Does pulsed-field ablation improve freedom from atrial tachyarrhythmia at 1 year compared to cryoballoon or radiofrequency ablation in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation?
Patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (paroxysmal AF)
Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using pulsed-field ablation (PFA)
Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using cryoballoon ablation (CBA) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
Freedom from any atrial tachyarrhythmia (ATa) at 1 yearhard clinical
Pulsed-field ablation appears to be as effective as cryoballoon or radiofrequency ablation for achieving 1-year freedom from atrial tachyarrhythmias in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
In a propensity score matched analysis of patients with paroxysmal AF, freedom from any ATa 1 year after PVI using PFA was favourable and at least as good as for PVI with CBA or RFA.
