The paper presents a study of the relationship between meaningful life orientations and learning motives of students at the pedagogical university. The relevance of the study of life-meaning orientations and motives of the teaching of modern students is determined. Approaches to understanding the motivation of learning are analyzed, the essence of meaningful life orientations and the features of their formation during the student period are determined. Differences in the severity of learning motives, the specifics of meaningful life orientations among students of the 1st and 4th courses are described. Comparative results of the study of the relationship between meaningful life orientations and learning motives among 1st and 4th year students are presented.
