Defense Question and the Problem of Political Order Under Conditions of Second Modernity

The article brings to our notice important questions concerning the relationship between conceptions of defense and security and the notion of political order. In effort to embrace this topic, cultural anthropology, political science and theory of international relations are taken into consideration as important, guide-offering, domains of scientific knowledge. The bottom line, however, is shaped by the notion of understanding, belonging to the tradition of hermeneutics. The notion of “second modernity”, having a lot to do with works of Ulrich Beck, gives the article its edge.
