Abstract Morphometrics and meristic study reveal the first ever record of the genus Gobiopsis and two gobioid species Gobiopsis macrostomus (Long-jaw goby) (Gobiidae) and Oxyurichthys papuensis (Frog-face goby) (Oxudercidae) from Chilika lagoon, Odisha, India. Present paper deals with the range extension of one genus and two gobioid fishes as additions to the ichthyofaunal diversity of Chilika lagoon, Odisha.
