Contemporary education requires educational proposals that include digital practices and tools to encourage reading and writing. The objective of this article is to analyze the applicability of the Luz do Saber platform as a Digital Educational Resource (RED) that facilitates the literacy and literacy processes of students in basic education. The methodology is qualitatively based and uses bibliographical research with consultation of government websites – related to programs, projects, digital educational resources and experience reports – to verify its applicability aimed at literacy and literacy – especially Luz do Saber. The results indicate that Luz do Saber as a RED contributes to the literacy of students with its gamified, playful, interactive activities and immediate feedback. The deficient digital teaching training and aspects relating to the infrastructure of institutions and the democratization of the internet are some issues of great impact on the effective use of RED.
