With the country's attention to higher vocational education, the teaching of traditional Chinese medicine has been further developed, As one of the core teaching contents of TCM, the basic theory of TCM plays a vital role in the teaching of higher vocational colleges.However, under the traditional teaching mode, there are still many problems in the teaching effect and practical application of TCM basic theories. From the perspective of ideological and political courses as the starting point, this paper analyzes the significance of the teaching reform of basic theory of TCM, and discusses how to better cultivate the professional quality and ideological and political ability of TCM students in higher vocational colleges, and how to improve the teaching quality and practical ability of basic theory courses of TCM.
