Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Kato Mikeladze - Founders of the Feminist Movement in the USA and Georgia

The article discusses the suffragist ideas of two feminist women: American Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Georgian Kato Mikeladze. Despite the chronological difference in their activities, they have much in common. Both of them demanded access to education for women, ownership of private property, the right to divorce and, most importantly, to grant them political rights. Above all, to get the right to vote. They fought against the discriminatory laws that gave women a secondary role in all fields. Both of them were distinguished by excellent oratorical talent and managed to attract the attention of the audience with their confident and sometimes aggressive speeches. Through their efforts it was possible to actualize the women's issue, which finally changed the laws in favor of women. Above all, they were given the right to vote.
