Mental health awareness among college students has garnered increasing attention due to theprevalence of mental health issues in this demographic. This study aims to explore the efficacy ofsocial media campaigns in promoting mental health awareness among college students. Leveraging a mixed-methods approach, both quantitative and qualitative data will be gatheredto comprehensively assess the impact of social media campaigns on students' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding mental health. The quantitative aspect of the study will involve surveying a diverse sample of college studentsto measure their exposure to mental health-related content on social media platforms, theirperceptions of the effectiveness of such campaigns, and their attitudes towards seeking help formental health concerns. Additionally, the survey will assess changes in students' knowledge ofmental health resources and their willingness to engage in supportive behaviors towards peersexperiencing mental health challenges. Complementing the quantitative findings, qualitative data will be collected through in-depthinterviews or focus group discussions with a subset of participants. This qualitative inquiry willdelve deeper into students' experiences with social media campaigns related to mental health, exploring the specific content, platforms, and messaging strategies that resonate most withthem. Moreover, these qualitative insights will shed light on the perceived barriers andfacilitators to engaging with mental health-related content on social media, as well as thepotential unintended consequences of such campaigns. Through the synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data, this study seeks to provide a nuancedunderstanding of the role that social media campaigns play in shaping mental health awarenessamong college students. Findings from this research will not only contribute to the academicliterature on mental health promotion but also inform the development of more effective andculturally sensitive social media interventions aimed at supporting the mental well-being ofcollege students.
