The author considered the implementation of ecological design tasks in the project activities future specialists in the sewing industry. The article analyzes the concept "upcycling", substantiates the relevance of the problem reducing the negative impact overproduction "non-basic" things, which end up in landfills and pollute the environment. The perspective upcycling technology for use at various levels of the organization the subject-spatial environment - in architecture and construction, manufacturing of furniture, clothes, shoes, accessories and household objects, furnishing and decoration of interiors - is highlighted. The content-experience of the implementation of upcycling projects in the educational process of universities in China, the USA, Great Britain, and Sweden was analyzed. Examples of the implementation of upcycling projects by students of the "Slavutskyi Vocational Lyceum" and higher education students at the Ukrainian State University named after Mykhailo Drahomanov are given. Techniques with the helpwhich future specialists in the sewing industry can implement projects on upcycling of light industry products are indicated. These include: hand painting, embroidery, macrame, knitting, patchwork, weaving and others. The choice of techniques is carried out by a person in accordance with the level of development of creative abilities, aesthetic preferences, developed abilities and skills in using these techniques. The conclusion the study: the introduction of ecological design into the educational process of Ukrainian institutions of professional (vocational and technical), higher education in project activities forms the ecological worldview of the students of education, promotes the development their creative abilities, creativity, and the search for non-standard solutions. Each manufactured thing is unique, unique, has an innovative design, and most importantly, by giving old things and materials a second life, students of education form an ecological worldview and can be part of the changes that will give the planet and humanity a chance for a future without environmental problems.
