The aim of the research is to identify the predominant features of genre synthesis in Bashkir prose in the second half of the 20th century based on a comparative-historical analysis of genre components present in the seminal work of M. Karim "A Long, Long Childhood". The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying various genre-stylistic varieties that create a synthesis, a new internal epic form in M. Karim's novella, which was subsequently developed by other writers. This aspect is selected for this research as a key one and presents undeniable interest for understanding the writer's individual style. For the first time, the genre poetics of M. Karim's novella "A Long, Long Childhood" is examined from the perspective of the problem of artistic synthesis. The obtained results showed that M. Karim's novella "A Long, Long Childhood", representing an organic synthesis of form and content, contributed to the activation of the movement of Bashkir prose towards a socio-philosophical epic whole, the emergence of various genre-stylistic directions in Bashkir prose in the second half of the 20th century up to the present time.
