The study focuses on the vital role of tactile sensation and proprioception in hand object manipulation. Despite their importance, current commercially available upper-limb prostheses lack the ability to provide these feedback due to various challenges in control. To address this issue, the study examines the impact of peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) parameters, such as frequency and pulse width, on somatosensory sensations. Data was collected from two transradial upper-limb amputees who underwent median nerve implantation with cylindrical electrodes. Through three PNS mapping sessions, we explored the stimulation parameter field. Building upon these findings, the work describes an approach for analyzing projection zones and perception features. This approach proves convenient for analyzing the effects of PNS and effectively accommodates the diverse nature of stimulation perception among different patients.
