With the increasing development and wide application of melting media technology, traditional mental health education in colleges and universities is facing unprecedented challenges. As a cross-border information dissemination channel, melting media deeply influences the life and learning styles of modern college students. This new form of information exchange provides college students with rich information resources and communication platforms, but at the same time brings a series of mental health problems. In this environment, college students often suffer from psychological disorientation, self-identity confusion, online privacy worries, and emotional derailment due to information overload, false images on social media, and over-reliance on technology. In response to these problems, there is an urgent need for model innovation in college mental health education. This paper describes the necessity of innovating the mental health education model in colleges and universities. It analyzes the issues of college students' mental health education model from the perspective of media convergence and proposes innovative ideas for mental health education in colleges and universities, aiming to offer a new direction for mental health education in higher education institutions.
