A growing number of traditionally addiction‐only treatment organizations are at least discussing if not implementing the addition of mental health treatment services, in some cases for individuals without a substance use disorder (SUD) diagnosis. In doing so, they find themselves needing to grapple with numerous challenges around staffing, assessment, payment and the ideal structure under which to add mental health care.
