Abstract Aircraft taxiing constitutes a pivotal component of airport operations, and curtailing taxiing duration is a primary strategy for enhancing airport operational efficiency. To actualize efficient airport operations and alter the current state of relying solely on manual apron control, this study, given the unique environment of aircraft taxiing, employs the improved SARSA algorithm to plan the taxiing path of aircraft. Through simulation, it is verified that this algorithm surpasses the traditional SARSA algorithm in terms of path length planning and iteration times, thereby providing controllers with superior decision-making assistance and reference, and efficiently planning a shorter path.
