While clinical studies have evaluated its application in glands between 30-150mL, we sought evaluate how the technology is used in the real-world setting. METHODS: Patients undergoing Aquablation from Asia, Europe, and North America were assessed for prostate size treated across year to observe trends and plotted in a density plot. A prospective database collected by on-site representatives of the company along with recordings of each case were maintained. Additionally, the risk of bleeding defined as transfusion or takeback for fulguration from the FDA MAUDE database was evaluated. RESULTS: 31,944 procedures were evaluated for this time period where the average prostate size was 89.7 ml±43.4 (maximum size of 657 ml). The prostate size density plot, Figure 1, shows a consistent Aquablation utilization and spread across all prostates sizes regardless of year (2019-2023). The risk of blood transfusion or takeback for fulguration was reported at 0.46%. Figure 1. Prostate size treated density plot by year. CONCLUSIONS: Aquablation has shown a consistent adoption in use across a broad range prostates sizes over five years while maintaining a reasonable bleeding risk.
