CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study demonstrate that this technology works best when challenged by dust particles of uniform size <250 µm via a standard 3.6Fr working channel. These conditions are less likely to be created in vivo. This technology may encounter more malfunctions (i.e. blockage) than that identified within this study. Factors limiting the use and efficacy of this system will depend on the quality of dust created. In conclusion, this system offers significant promise but requires further evaluation, both within an in vitro and in vivo setting, in tandem with further optimisation of dust quality and outflow.
