You have accessJournal of UrologyInfertility: Epidemiology p=0.0008). Men with vasectomy performed by non-urologists had increased odds of repeat procedure (aOR: 1.56 1.40-1.74; p<0.0001) (Table 1). CONCLUSIONS: The rate of VF, while low, was higher than previously reported, although significant differences were not seen over time. Factors such as older age of the partner and later years of vasectomy were associated with reduced odds of VF, while the absence of PVSA was associated with increased odds. The higher pregnancy rate in the months after vasectomy suggests an opportunity to improve patient counseling. Interestingly, non-Urology providers were associated with increased odds of repeat vasectomy. Further investigation will be necessary for improved clinical decision-making and patient counseling.
