In recent years, smart cities have become a global topic involving extensive scientific research. In this work, bibliometric analysis was done to get a structural perspective and help scholars understand the features of smart cities research. The Web of Science's main collection identified 4409 smart cities in publications between 1998 and 2019; they were used in the study of this paper using the bibliometric analysis software and VOS-viewer. In specific words, this study provides a visual representation of the entire area of smart city research, including the number of publications produced on a regular basis, the primary focus of smart city scholars, and the most significant nations in terms of institutions, sources, and authors. 1 Offer intriguing avenues for further study in the field of smart city research. Based on a numbers of cooperation analyses, additionally, we offer cross-national (regional), cross- organizational, and cross-author research collaboration.2 The bibliometric examination of the extant literature yielded a significant and groundbreaking resource for scholars and professionals operating within the domain of smart city research communities.3
