"也" is one of the most frequently used words in Chinese. The meaning of "similarity" is the most common form of "也". In view of the fact that words with the meaning of "similarity" also widely exist in other languages, for Chinese learners, "也" with the meaning of "similarity" is not Difficult to master. However, in modern Chinese, there are also many "也" sentences with "non-similar" meanings that make it difficult for foreign Chinese learners to understand, let alone use them accurately. This is because the "也" sentence of this kind of modal adverb has a very special expression function and is a meaningless function word, so it is difficult to cover it in one sentence during teaching.BR Through the analysis and classification of the corpus, this articleclassifies the semantic types of sentences with the modal adverb "也",and at the same time analyzes and summarizes the role of "也" in thesentence. And it is concluded that the "也" sentence can effectivelyconvey the speaker's position and attitude by reducing the degree andtone of information expression, that is, using low-key emphasis. Theorigin of this function of "也" sentences was also investigated. From theperspective of language communication, as well as the derivation anddevelopment process of "也" sentences, current and diachronic researchhas been carried out, proving that there is a scientific basis for the reason why "也" sentences can assume this semantic expression function.BR It is hoped that this article can help Chinese learners to better understand the expression function of the "non-similar" meaning of "也", and better use the "non-similar" meaning of "也" to achieve communicative goals, and provide a basis for the improvement of "也" sentences. Research adds basic information.
