The protection of inhabitants of buildings skyscrapers or houses against natural disasters is an important issue nowadays and there is a need to develop affordable and efficient real-time automatic systems to implement it. This paper introduces such an automatic system i.e., Safe PvsE, which has four sensor inputs, as follows: a vibration sensor for detecting an earthquake, an air quality sensor, and a passive infrared sensor (PIR). When the Safe PvsE (People vs Earthquake) system detects an earthquake and a significant decrease in air quality, it will initiate a predefined procedure to protect the people present in the building. It will send an SMS to the ISU about the location of the building and the number of people inside. The subsequent developments of the system presented in this article are mentioned in the Conclusions section.
