This study examines the analytic wave solutions of a fourth-order (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with higher-order odd and even terms using the modified Sardar sub-equation method. The modified Sardar sub-equation method has simple calculations, high accuracy, low computational effort and provides variety of solution forms. The results show a wide range of solutions including bright, dark and singular solitons as well as hyperbolic, periodic, singular periodic, and exponential solutions. Assigning suitable values to free parameters allows for the graphic representation of the dynamical wave structures of some analytical solutions using two- and three-dimensional graphics.
