Rubedo Life Sciences has raised 40 million in a series A financing round coled by Khosla Ventures and Ahren Innovation Capital. The start-up will develop small molecules targeting aging cells that drive skin and fibrotic diseases, starting with chronic atopic dermatitis and chronic psoriasis. The medicines are designed to clear away senescent cells, "enabling the shift from a maladaptive environment into a proregenerative response, " says CEO Marco Quarta.
