In this study, we have highlighted the electro-magnetic properties of the CrMnS 2 I 2 monolayer using the method of density functional theory. The external electric field of 0.5 eV/Å is applied in the z-direction and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (MAE) is maintained for the CrMnS 2 I 2 monolayer with this approach as well. The MAE and exchange coupling constants (J 1 , J 2 , J 3 ) shows considerable changes. Thus, the enhanced magnetic properties suggest CrMnS 2 I 2 monolayer as a promising candidate for the spintronic applications.
