PURPOSE: Drain use for breast reconstruction (BR) is inconsistent among plastic surgeons. We aim to evaluate complications following superomedial pedicle (SMP) Wise-pattern BR, comparing those with 800 g had more minor complications (β=0.295, p=0.004) in multivariate logistic regression. CONCLUSION: The use of surgical drains is safe and protective against complications, particularly in greater resection weights.
