Given the wide availability of rapid diagnostics and medication, cardiomyopathy secondary to hypothyroidism are now rare. The predominant phenotype is a dilated cardiomyopathy, but if systemic myxoedema is reached, the phenotype may differ and asymmetrical septal hypertrophy can occur secondary to cardiac myxoedema deposits.
