This study investigates the interactive communication aspects of the common Mandarin Chinese structure "有什么好X的." Previous research focused on the structure"s negative connotation. However, this analysis proposes negation is not just about semantic meaning, but also reflects speaker interaction strategies. Employing an interactive communication perspective, the study analyzes naturally occurring spoken language data to understand negation within "有什么好X的." The analysis points out that negation response is the pragmatic function of this structure, discovering that this structure has two pragmatic effects: a positive effect and a negative effect. In the discourse characteristics section, this study analyzes usage restrictions, distribution patterns, and response targets in interactive communication. From a communicative perspective, this structure meets the speaker"s need to express different stances and helps both the speaker and the listener seek a common ground.
