The article contains the text of the author’s translation of Articles 61–73 of the current version of Chapter 5 “Correction of convicts through education” of the Law on Prisons of the People’s Republic of China. As part of a brief comparative analysis with Russian legislation, a number of features of correctional treatment for convicts under Chinese law are highlighted: the use of convicts is carried out for their successful employment after release; there is the possibility of interrelated application of various means of correction; government agencies and non-governmental organizations have been identified that assist the administration of a penitentiary institution in the education of convicts, etc.
