This historiographical review examines the domestic research literature, which highlights the issues of the Soviet Union providing military, political, diplomatic and humanitarian assistance to the Spanish Republic in 1936-1939, which became the object of aggression by European fascism. Mainly the latest works of Russian historians are considered.
