ChatGPT is a generative AI language model released by U.S. 'Open AI' on November 30, 2022, and has made headlines in various fields such as finance, law, and healthcare. In the field of education, along with concerns about the use of ChatGPT, there is a growing recognition of its potential as a teaching and learning tool. Therefore, this study aims to present the lessons and implications of the 'AI and Ethics' course of K University's liberal arts elective courses for using ChatGPT.The class was conducted with theoretical lectures, practice, and discussion, and the results derived through the study are as follows. The advantages of ChatGPT are that students can quickly get the information they want in a conversation format, use language interchangeably, and use it for document summarization, translation, math problem-solving, and coding. The disadvantages are that the specificity of the response is poor, and the quantity and quality of the response vary greatly depending on the ability to write prompts, and are not sure whether the information is reliable. In addition, the discussion confirmed that students recognized ChatGPT's function as a learning tool while recognizing its limitations and ethical application plans.
