The fan exit guide vane (FEGV) is an essential component in a turbofan engine that improves the aerodynamic efficiency by recovering swirl in the bypass duct. This paper explores the effect of FEGV sweep and placement on the aft-radiated interaction broadband noise created by the turbofan stage. Two rig-scale fan stage configurations are analyzed. The simulations presented here support previous findings that show unlike the tonal noise, the broadband noise is only slightly affected by the FEGV sweep and placement. The overall trend with FEGV placement is similar across fan operating points and FEGV types. The spectrum is tilted by turbulence length scale and increased or decreased by annulus area change. Depending on the magnitude of each influence, as the placement of the FEGV is changed, the total broadband noise increases or decreases. However, the total broadband noise changes by no more than 1 dB for all FEGV cases and all placements considered for the two fan rigs.
