Social Media Discontinuing Intention from Short Video Platforms in Terms of Negative Information Factors: A Focus on TikTok Users in China

쇼트 비디오 플랫폼은 이용자에게 표현의 자유, 재미를 비롯한 "밝은 면"을 제공하는 반면, 많은 부정적인 정보 요소들이 "어두운 면"을 구성하여 이용자의 지속적인 플랫폼 이용의도를 제약한다. 본 연구는 자극-유기체-반응(SOR) 모델을 프레임워크로 삼아 쇼트 비디오 플랫폼의 "어두운 면"이 이용자의 플랫폼 이용중단의도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴본다. 본 연구 결과에 따르면 콘텐츠 저속화 외에도 광고 방해성, 정보 모호성, 루머의 확산이 이용자 플로우 경험의 형성을 지연시키고, 이 네 가지 부정적인 정보 요인이 쇼트 비디오 이용자의 소셜 미디어 피로감을 유발하여 소셜 미디어 이용중단의도로 이어진다는 사실을 발견했다. 동시에, 플로우 경험은 이용중단의도에 대한 세 가지 완화효과가 있다. 첫째, 소셜 미디어 피로감이 이용중단의도에 미치는 영향을 완화하고, 둘째, 소셜 미디어 피로감의 형성을 방해하며, 셋째, 이용자의 이용중단의도를 직접적으로 감소시킨다. Short video platforms provide users with a "light side" that includes freedom of expression and fun, but a lot of negative information elements constitute a "dark side" that limits users" intention to continue using the platform. This study adopts the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model as a framework for exploring how the "dark side" of short-video platforms influences users" intention to discontinue using the platforms. Our results show that in addition to content vulgarization, advertising interference, information equivocality, and rumor dissemination delay the formation of user flow experience, and these four negative information factors cause social media fatigue in short video users, leading to social media discontinuing intention. At the same time, the flow experience has three moderating effects on discontinuing intention. First, it moderates the effect of social media fatigue on discontinuing intention, second, it hinders the formation of social media fatigue, and third, it directly reduces users" discontinuing intention.
