Nowadays, much attention has been paid in the Russian Federation to restoration of abandoned agricultural land, some of which are inconvenient. This article is exactly about the rational use of such lands in the system of land management and reforestation. Special attention is paid to the afforestation methods of these areas. The article also shows the distribution areas of afforestation sites on lands subject to various degradation, contains the logical scheme of the sequence and design of surveying activities for the creation of agroforestry and agrophytomeliorative plantations in working projects, and considers the parameters of the formation of forest structures that affect the effectiveness of land management measures.
