- Information and communication technologies (ICT) provides organizations with a competitive advantage. Thus, spread of ICT knowledge and experience in higher education is an essential element of the global educational reform initiative. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which upper-level students at Tishk International University (TIU) use ICT in their academic lives and to identify the factors that influence their ICT usage levels. Data was collected through a survey of 258 upper-class students from the Engineering, Applied Science, Pharmacy, Law and Education faculties, using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, One-Sample t-test, Two-Sample t-test, and one-way ANOV A were all used to analyze the data obtained. Findings indicate that majority of the students regularly use ICT, with smartphones and laptops as the most prevalent devices. In addition, findings suggest a correlation between students' technological experiences and gender, area of expertise and marital status. These findings have implications for educators and policymakers in terms of better integrating technology into the classroom and preparing students for the digital age.
