New possibilities available for higher ed in prison

The 2024–25 academic year is the first time in 30 years that incarcerated individuals have full access to federal need‐based financial aid to participate in higher education in prison. Pell Grant eligibility was restored in 2023, marking the end of three decades of dramatically decreased college‐in‐prison programs.
