Methods of Traffic Regulation in Transit Zones and Their Impact on the Likelihood of Congestion

An alternative approach to traffic regulation on the smart cities road network in the context of an increasing volume of logistics using an intelligent transport system to reduce emissions and congestion is proposed. It is applicable in residential areas of transit zones and large cities with heavy traffic. The methods of regulating traffic in areas of transit zones, such as intelligent signaling, load limitation, and traffic in a dedicated lane, are given.
