Trade Unions and Industrial Councils: Competition or Peaceful Coexistence in the Contemporary Labor and Economic Conditions?

The article deals with certain issues of the purpose of works councils as an effective mechanism for managing an organization, their interaction with trade unions. The theoretical basis and norms of German legislation regulating the activities of works councils and trade unions are analyzed. The conclusion is made about the need for a more detailed study of the theoretical framework and amendments to the Russian legislation concerning the definition of their powers of works councils, delineation of competence with the trade union.
