This paper synthesizes insights from two collaborative studies investigating GABAergic dysregulation in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The study by Al-Otaish et al. (2018) explored amino acid profiles in 40 male children with ASD, revealing elevated GABA levels and altered glutamate/glutamine ratios. In parallel, El-Ansary et al. (2021) focused on GABAergic dysfunction and apoptotic markers in a cohort of 20 ASD children.
