Summary Dactylorhiza incarnata ( early marsh orchid ) is illustrated here. It is a widespread European and termperate Asian species. A detailed description is provided, with notes on habitat. Given its wide distribution and the diverse range of habitats where it occurs, its conservation status is Least Concern in Europe. It is less amenable to cultivation than some other Dactylorhiza species, and it should be regarded as a plant to be grown by specialists.
