The Religious Movement of the Peoples in the Development of the Islamic Civilization in Minangkabau

The educated Minangkabau women who were born of the education of modernization were also the pinnacle of the birth of the women's movement in the early 20th century. This study aims to explain the influence of Minangkabau Women's Religion on the development of Islamic civilization, including the Movement conducted by the Holy Rohana, Rasuna Said, and Rahmah el Yunusiyyah. This study uses a method of history that consists of four stages: heuristic, pointing, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the research show that the women's movement in Minangkabau has a major contribution to the development of Islamic civilization in the Minangkabu. Especially with the presence of such influential female scholars. Education has proved to be the most fundamental factor in the emergence of the women's movement. The women educated in modern schools are at the forefront of the struggle for the advancement of their people, thus giving birth to women's special schools.
