Abstract Introduction the hospital environment is characterized by organizational particularities that promote exposure to occupational risks, the protection of staff health is a major concern in the context of improving the quality of care. Methods We carried out an assessment of the occupational health and safety situation using the PESTEL method in conjunction with the SWOT method, which will simplify our understanding of the hospital environment within its surroundings. Results The analysis of the situation enabled us to categorize the internal and external factors influencing the management of Occupational Health and Safety marked essentially by the establishment’s commitment, despite the will expressed by the direction in its establishment project, we note the absence of a clear strategy for managing of Occupational Health and Safety As a result, the draft low to the reform the national health system is an opportunity to highlight the importance of occupational health and safety in a process of continuous improvement of the quality and safety of care. Discussion Occupational health and safety in the hospital is part of the promotion of decent work, it is based on the provisions of Moroccan legislation, the national occupational health and safety plan and the guidelines of the establishment project. Conclusion this analysis is carried out in accordance with the orientations and objectives of the social project of Ibn Rochd University Hospital with the aim of modernizing management and improving working conditions.
