Abstract Background Ebola in Guinea: Assessment of the exposure of healthcare personnel in care structures. Aims Identify the exposure conditions of Guinean healthcare personnel; Assess the protective measures used and Establish a situational diagnosis of the Guinean health system. Methods A retrospective, evaluative study on an analytical reflection of the different modes of exposure of Guinean healthcare personnel during the epidemic period of the Ebola virus epidemic on the analysis of data recorded at the Ebola coordination and WHO. Results 162 confirmed cases of Ebola virus contamination among healthcare personnel out of 11,527. That is 1.41% contamination of all Guinean healthcare personnel. This extremely high mortality rate is explained by the pathophysiology of the disease. The reasons for this heavy price paid by the nursing staff are due to their multiple occupational and community exposures to the virus ¬¬¬. Long hours of work in a cosmonaut’s tunic, psychological stress and the lack of competent health personnel have also avoided this carnage. Although extremely lethal, Ebola is fought through communication and the application of health and safety measures. Discussion and conclusion Epidemic as experienced by the Guinean population and particularly by the Guinean medical staff has been a dramatic lesson that everyone will remember for a very long time. It has committed enormous human, economic and even cultural damage. The best tools for the fight remain communication, the wise application of hygiene, protection and safety measures.
