Sustainable development of forestry is impossible without modern forest machines. Harvesting, transportation of wood, landscaping of forest areas and nature protection – a wide range of tasks for forest machines. However, the main factor for the successful completion of the work is the reliability of these machines. The presented article describes a mathematical model of the reliability of forest machines based on the use of neural networks. Computer systems capable of learning from a large amount of data and predicting results based on new input data are neural networks. In this article, a neural network was chosen to analyze the parameters of the operation of forest machines and determine the probability of failures. With the help of neural networks, it is possible to develop more reliable machine designs. It is established that the use of such models will help to analyze the operational reliability of forest machines in various changing conditions and improve their efficiency.
