The European course of economic development, drawn by the Republic of Moldova in recent years, has generated an avalanche of normative acts that have conceptually changed, in some places, the bases of legislation, and in some segments have established social, economic or cultural relations that did not exist until now, such relationships also bringing a specific terminology, less known in society, in some cases the same notion having different meanings taken from different sources. In this context, the problem society often faces is that either the object covered by the notion is not clearly defined or the object in question is perceived differently even in policy documents, especially those focused on training, when the matter is about a specialty, the disciplines necessary for the training of a specialist and the product generated by this specialist, the identification and protection of that product. Such a situation raises confusion or even conflict. For this reason, in this paper we will try to clarify the mean-ing of the notions of design, designer and design object, as well as the relationship of these notions with the field of intellectual property.
