Renewable Energy grids are becoming popular in the world. Their share in the energy market is increasing. Hybrid renewable energy systems are becoming part of the future renewable energy grid. Introducing a Hybrid renewable energy system is adding to Power quality problems. The research analysed the impact of metrological changes on power quality disturbances in a hybrid renewable energy system. The research aimed to highlight which of the metrological condition have a higher impact on power quality disturbances on different types of loads in the grid. The result of the research was collected using MATLAB simulation, and results were further analysed using FFT analysis. The result showed lower solar irradiance and low wind speed caused higher Total Harmonic Distortion (voltage and current), longer duration of voltage sags, and voltage swells in the case of non-linear load in comparison with linear loads. Lower solar irradiances had a higher impact on Power Quality disturbances. The study can help us to optimise the power produced by the Hybrid Renewable Energy System. It can help reduce causes of power quality disturbances and develop new power quality mitigation techniques and equipment. The new techniques can enable the equipment to handle specific power quality disturbances.
