(Abstracted from JAMA Network Open 2024;7(1):e2352109) The US Supreme Court decision in the case of Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization ( Dobbs ) has had far-reaching consequences and implications for patients and for health care professionals. Between the announcement of the result of this case in 2022 and December 2023, 16 states, with 5 more pending, have passed bans on abortion with exceptions that in many cases are very limited.
