With the worsening environmental issues and the scarcity of energy resources, new energy vehicles have become a crucial solution to address traffic pollution and the energy crisis. This paper reviews the classification and technological status of new energy vehicles, discussing the technical characteristics and application prospects of electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and plug-in hybrid vehicles. It also analyzes the challenges they face in terms of cost, range, infrastructure, and safety. By delving into key technologies such as battery technology, hydrogen fuel cell technology, and electric motor and drive technology, this paper envisions the development trends of new energy vehicles, highlighting that future technological innovations, policy support, and infrastructure development will drive the widespread adoption of new energy vehicles, achieving the goals of green transportation and sustainable development.
