The role of the civilizational approach in the theoretical substantiation of the ideology of modern Russian society

The aim of the work is to comprehend the role of the civilizational approach as a theoretical justification of the ideology of modern Russian society. The article examines the meanings of the concepts "civilization" and "ideology", which are fundamental in substantiating the role of the civilizational approach in the development of ideology. Within the framework of the civilizational approach, the constitutive spiritual values that form the foundation of Russian civilization have been identified, on the basis of which a new ideology is supposed to be formed. The scientific novelty of this work lies in the fact that it has been shown how the civilizational approach can be used as a methodology for shaping the ideology of modern Russian society. As a result, it was found that the civilizational approach corresponds in its content to the new ideology of Russian society, which will be based on the fundamental values that are part of Russia's «civilizational code». The necessity of forming a new ideology was also proved, not only on the basis of traditional values, but also taking into account the modern realities of Russian society in the context of confrontation with Western civilization.
