The petrochemical maker Borealis, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and the Abu Dhabi–based petrochemical maker Borouge plan to build a polyolefin complex with the Chinese firms Wanhua Chemical Group and Wanrong New Materials in Fuzhou, China. The plant will have 1.6 million metric tons per year of polyolefin capacity and will use Borealis's Borstar technology. Borealis has been branching out of its core European region, recently establishing the Bayport Polymers joint venture with TotalEnergies in the US. It and ADNOC also own Borouge.
