81‐1: Invited Paper: What Makes a Good Automotive Display and How MicroLEDs Will Improve Them Even Further

Vehicle‐mounted displays are subject to some unique use‐cases and integration constraints that must be thoroughly considered during development to make the project successful, and the customer and end‐user pleased. This paper will touch upon some of the areas of automotive display engineering that deserves special attention. The automotive industry follows the development of MicroLED with excitement, as it holds promise of increased robustness and brightness, as well as new display types. This paper will examine some of the features that make MicroLED unique, the current state of research and its possible impact on the automotive industry.
