This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a self-esteem program targeting 6th-grade elementary school students.To achieve this purpose, applicants were selected from 6th grade elementary school students in S-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and a purposive sampling method considering gender was applied to the research subjects.Thirteen people were recruited (experimental group seven people, control group six people).This study used a control group pre-post comparison survey, which is one of the pure experimental research designs of the experimental and control group.Elementary school students in the experimental group were given a self-esteem program for 10 sessions of 40 minutes twice a week, and no program was provided to elementary school students in the control group.This was processed using the SPSS Win 21.0 ver.First, no significant differences were found in the pre-test between the experimental and control groups, proving the homogeneity of the experimental and control groups.Second, as a result of controlling the pre-scores of the experimental and control groups and comparing and analyzing the difference between the post-scores, the self-esteem of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group.Therefore, it is meaningful in that it revealed that the self-esteem improvement program has a positive effect on improving the self-esteem of 6 th grade elementary school students.
